Young Boy Dies in Forklift Incident

A 12-year-old Claremont, New Hampshire boy has died, four months after being run over by a forklift. The young boy who had been in a coma since early April when he was involved in an industrial accident died at the Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield on Sunday.
12-year-old Jason Hagerman suffered a crushed skull when he was hit by a forklift driven by 21 year old Joshua Raney at Maurice Auto and Truck on Washington Street in Claremont on April 4th.
Hagerman had been in a coma and was placed in the rehabilitation center for shortly after the accident.
Details of the incident are not available although the 6th grader was spending the day at the site where his mother’s boyfriend works. The incident involved a large propane powered forklift.
This story from a couple weeks ago is very tragic. It serves as a powerful reminder that pedestrians and forklifts in an area together can end tragically. It reminds us as drivers and pedestrians how we must continually be aware of our surroundings and the importance of making eye contact with one another when approaching.
